🥂 8 YEARS IN REAL ESTATE
Eight years ago today, I took a pretty big leap.
I was transitioning from being an admin supporting other agents to becoming a full time Realtor myself.
And if I'm being completely honest, I was nervous as hell.
I was passionate about real estate. I was excited about the opportunity. And I desperately wanted to be someone my clients could count on.
But I was also terrified of making a mistake.
My first clients were often friends and first time homebuyers, which meant I took that responsibility VERY seriously. I knew what it felt like to be a first time buyer myself, and I wanted my clients to feel like they had someone beside them who would explain things, answer the questions, calm the nerves and figure out what to do when something inevitably went sideways.
And over these eight years, a lot has gone sideways. 😂
There have been broken hearts, stressful transactions, scary moments in the market, uncertainty, deals that looked nothing like they did when we started and plenty of moments where I had to take a breath and think before I spoke.
Those moments taught me something incredibly important:
Being a good Realtor isn't about knowing exactly what to do every second. It's about knowing how to navigate the moments when you don't.
Eight years has taught me patience.
It has taught me to listen.
It has taught me to think before I speak.
It has taught me that sometimes the most important thing I can do for a client is simply be the calm person in the room.
And perhaps most importantly, it has reminded me over and over again that I was a first time homebuyer once, too.
I am incredibly proud that I didn't give up when this business got hard.
I'm proud of the relationships I've built.
I'm proud of the people who trusted me with some of the biggest decisions and hardest transitions of their lives.
And I'm proud of the Realtor I've become.
Eight years ago, I was hoping I could do this.
Today, I know I can.
So tonight, I'm popping the ch*****ne. 🥂
Eight years in.
Still learning.
Still growing.
Still ridiculously passionate about this business.
And honestly?
I think I'm just getting started. ❤️
