Field Service Technician - Electric Meter Maintenance
Sign-on bonus up to $250
Job Description
This position is trained to perform a variety of duties maintaining residential electric meters.
Candidates will train directly with experienced trainers to learn expectations and requirements of this work. After training, employee works independently.
This position is representing a major local utility.
Some responsibilities may include (after on-the-job training program):
• Accurately read meters in connection with work performed.
• Perform procedures related to turn-off of electric meters.
• Exchanging residential electric meters.
• Remain knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures, and practices.
• Must be able to work in an environment where there is exposure to stress, dampness, dirt, heat, and noise. Will work in all types of weather.
• Work environment may include frequent visits to and into customer premises.
• After training period, candidate will work independently the majority of the time.
• Possible future advancement working with turn off/turn on work involving gas meters and the process of safely re-lighting.
Hiring Requirements include:
• High School diploma or equivalent, technical training desired.
• Competent in computer / windows-based applications.
• Mechanically inclined. Previous experience in plumbing, heating & air, or gas is a plus.
• MUST have good driving record.
• Good customer service skills.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to: walking, driving, bending, climbing, sitting, lifting, stretching, and kneeling.
Additional Information:
New hires eligible for $250 sign on bonus. Half paid at upon successful completion of first 90 days. Second half paid at 6 months (*provided they are performing satisfactorily and under no written warnings).
Also, after training employees are eligible for quarterly bonuses in addition to Sign-On bonus.
This position will require pre-employment background checks, driving record checks, and drug & alcohol testing. It is also subject to random drug and alcohol screening and driving record checks.
Schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This position will work Monday-Friday (40 hours per week) with possibility of occasional overtime. Training will be provided. This is an entry level position with opportunity for advancement.
$15/hr + benefits to start; bonus potential after training, potential for salary increase after training and successful demonstration of job abilities; Annual increase earning potential with training and experience.
All required tools, clothing, cell phone, daily work vehicle, provided by the company.
