As I look back on the incredible journey we embarked on at the Kentucky Realtor Leadership Academy, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead alongside some of the most dedicated individuals I've ever had the privilege to meet. Our vision was clear: "To inspire Kentucky Realtor Members to Lead," we've certainly done that and more!
Throughout the year, we focused on four essential pillars: Professionalism, Leadership Development, Advocacy, and Team Building. We've had some fantastic experiences that have truly enriched our lives and strengthened our commitment to the real estate profession.
🔹 Association Spokesmanship training and NAR Grant writing sessions sharpened our skills and gave us the tools to make a real impact.
🔹 Our visit to Houston for the NARAB national conference opened our eyes to the broader world of real estate and the importance of advocacy.
🔹 We embraced our competitive spirit with laser tag, Escape rooms, and Ghost tours.
🔹Honed our professionalism through mock professional standards training.
🔹 Our journey to Savannah, Georgia, in Region 4 was educational and memorable, deepening our appreciation for the real estate landscape.
🔹 Cooking together at a rehabilitation center was a heartwarming experience, reminding us of the importance of giving back to our communities.
But it wasn't just about the formal sessions and events but the countless laughs, shared dinners, and the friendships we've built. These moments will stay with me forever.
To the graduating class, Ruby McCoy Mason, Aleshia R Burns, Crissie Buntin, Susie Donoho Stewart, Susan Bayers Hatton, Tonya Berry Freeman, Dustin Gilbert, Curtis Scott Duvall II, Lee Kershaw, Jessie Speaks, Brenda Treon Hines, and Bree Snow for this incredible year! I greatly appreciate your unwavering dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for our industry. You are the future leaders of our association and communities, and I have no doubt that you will continue to inspire and make a difference.
Thank you, Kim Sickles, for challenging me to be a better leader and person. As Chair of the Leadership program last year, you taught me how to lead from the front and inspire individuals to push beyond their limitations.
Thank you, Elizabeth Monarch, for the opportunity to Chair the Kentucky Realtors Leadership Academy in 2023. It was an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Thank you, Janette DeWitt, for being my Vice Chair and friend. You never hesitated to jump in and help, no matter when or what was needed, to make this the best experience for our class. You will be a fantastic chair for KRLA next year.
Thank you, Kyle Tetzlaff, for being the best KYR Liason. Your ideas, ability to pivot, and energy made this class special for everyone. They sky is the limit for you, buddy.
In Conclusion, I'm reminded of a quote from Simen Seniek that ties it all together: "Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge." Let's carry this wisdom with us as we continue to grow and lead, not only within our association but also in the communities we serve.
Here's to the future and the positive change we will bring!
