Did you know The City of Boulder just opened up new opportunities for the 2027 Sundance Film Festival? Under the April 2026 ordinance, BOTH renters and investment property owners can now apply for the specialized Festival Lodging Rental License.

This shift allows more people to participate in the festival economy, including those with properties that were previously ineligible for short-term rentals. If you already have a long-term rental license, the city has even introduced a supplemental one-year license for a reduced fee. This is a massive win for anyone looking to capture festival demand without jeopardizing their long-term status.
