Hey Friends...
Many of you know that real estate has been my ticket to a better life. Way back when my kid's dad and I were young and eager to get ahead, his Uncle Joe introduced us to Robert Kiyosaki. We devoured Rich Dad Poor Dad and took the plunge, buying our first home from Larry Schmidt and Carol—my God Parents and some of my favorite people. That house, Larry's childhood home, was our start. We bought it for $63,000 ($58,000 plus $5,000 for hardwood floors in '98), and that wouldn’t have been possible without the $5,000 wedding gift from my ex's grandfather. I’m forever grateful to them for giving us that boost.
Over the years, we bought around 14 homes—some rentals, some fix-and-flips, and even a lease option. Once in a while, I still think about the charming, crooked-floored duplex we snagged from Craigslist in Loveland because the real estate agent couldn't sell it. We got a steal.
When we divorced, I started from scratch, but I am the one who found all the properties, and I knew I could do it again. I just needed my license. Although I kept the primary residence, I lost all the other properties. Teaching helped me survive, but real estate? It has helped me thrive.
Today, by the grace of God and through many real estate transactions of my own, I've had over 420 people stay with me throughout the world in my former Airbnb. I think I've done just about every type of real estate transaction possible!
When people meet me all branded out, they might think I'm all about marketing... but I can't wait to prove them wrong with my Real Estate Mind. I’m now in a career that I absolutely love. I get to help others keep more money in their pockets and get ahead in life. I genuinely love real estate and always share everything I know. If I think a deal isn't right for you, trust me, there's a better one waiting.
