🚧 Traffic Alert: New Detours Coming to N. Taft Avenue 🚧

Starting early next week, Taft Avenue will close between 18th and 29th Streets as part of the N. Taft Water & Storm Improvements Project. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time!

✅ Intersection work wraps up midweek, then crews shift focus to upgrading water and stormwater infrastructure along the corridor.

Detour Details:
➡ Southbound traffic: Detour at 29th Street via Wilson Ave or US 287
➡ Northbound traffic: Detour at US 34 via Wilson Ave or US 287
🏠 Local access to homes and businesses will remain available, but expect only one northbound lane within the work zone.

⚠ Detours will remain in place through the project’s completion, anticipated June 2026.

Due to a deep water main leak, crews will close westbound lanes of 29th street between Garfield Ave and Lake Drive for a week starting 7 a.m. Monday, January 29th to Monday, February 5th. No water outages are anticipated and eastbound lanes will remain open. Detours for westbound drivers will take them either north on Garfield to 37th or south on Garfield to Eisenhower, see map for more details.
