The initail instinct is to say that higher interest rates lower prices...but statistics would tell a different story. Yes interest rates have an impact on the pace of the economy. (Higher the interest rates, the less appetite for risk) But generally speaking, over the course of time, house prices are tied much closer to the devaluation of the dollar rather than the price to borrow money. If you are curious about real estate in Northern Colorado, I have been doing a monthly update on the market, my thoughts on water, interest rates, inflation etc. etc. I enjoy the education part of real estate as much as anything in the business.
