One of my favorite things about real estate is that you never know where a conversation might lead.
Several months ago, I received a Facebook Marketplace message about my listing at 563 Comanche. The gentleman who contacted me knew that particular home wasn’t the right fit for him, but he asked if I knew of anything else available at Buffalo Springs Lake. We talked about a lot I had coming soon, but after discussing his goals, it became clear that wasn’t going to be the right opportunity either.
As we continued talking, we discovered a family connection—his wife is a Duncan, making her part of my extended family tree (if you know me, you know if you’re a Jackson, Duncan or Fleming were related somehow!). What started as a simple Marketplace inquiry turned into getting to know each other and talking about their future homeownership plans. Before we wrapped up, he told me, “When we’re ready to buy, I’ll be calling you.”
Last week, he called and said “hey Jenn, we found a house”.
He and his wife had found a home they loved and had done a lot of the legwork themselves. They knew what they wanted and had already identified the property. What they needed was someone to help them navigate the negotiations, review the details, answer questions, and guide them through the contract process.
I was honored to step in and help them put all the pieces together. We worked through the details, negotiated on their behalf, and got everything lined up for a successful transaction.
Now they’re officially under contract and on their way to purchasing their very first home together, with a closing scheduled for July.
Moments like these remind me that real estate is about so much more than houses. It’s about relationships, trust, and being there when people need guidance—whether that starts with a listing appointment, a referral, or even a random Facebook Marketplace message.
Congratulations to this sweet couple on their first home together! I can’t wait to see them make it their own.
