I am sitting here "having to make room" in my Client guides for another agent!! What a problem to have! I GET TO DO THIS THING WE ALL CALL CRAZY SOMETIMES! But how blessed am I that I get to do this crazyness with all my agents with Edie West Realty Group Your Realtor Beyond Close, Simply Texas Real Estate Group - REAL Broker AND backed by the absolute BEST Brokerage in my mind! The leadership is exemplar and the teachings are some of the best I have seen!! Although it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make, giving up my Brokerage, it was the BEST thing I ever did! I am still Edie West Realty Group, this name I am extremely proud of, but now I have the support of 20K agents behind me, with an income model that is indescribable (which I will describe if you want to know LOL). Just wanted to say this today, as I am blessed with the people I am choosing to surround myself with and the rooms I am choosing to make a presence in.

I could not resist!! it was asked in a group to explain to a class of fifth graders why realtors will not be extinct after August 17 in this answer was just perfect!

Simple-

5th Grade Student,

Can you imagine a classroom full of students with no teachers? At first, that might sound amazing to all the students—parties all day! But soon, the classroom would be a disaster, and when test time comes, everyone would fail and might have to repeat 5th grade.

The same concept applies when buying a house. Just replace teachers with Realtors and students with buyers.

And furthermore, think about all those special teachers and paras in the classroom that help kids with specialized needs, like your special education, exceptional and gifted student paras, and your music and phys ed teachers. They are like Realtors with specialties in different areas. You wouldn’t want the phys ed teacher helping a student learn how to play the recorder, would you?! (Might be fun to see! 🤣) Similarly, specialized Realtors ensure buyers get the right help and expertise for their specific needs.

This is a great way to put the new rules coming our way!

"On August 17th a Realtor CAN NOT show you a home unless you have signed agreement with them. (Unless you request a showing through the listing agent.) Usually it’s not a problem and we can zip over, show it to you and be done, however, starting August 17th no Realtor will be able to unlock a door for you without you first signing that agreement. This will be non negotiable for any person with a Realtor designation. The usual form between buyer and Realtor is a Buyers Representation Agreement. That agreement is basically your contract between you and that realtor saying you will be using them to buy a home and breaking down the roles, duties and responsibilities owed to you by your agent etc. This is not something we want to do, but are being required to do.
Picking the agent you want to use to help you buy a home is an important decision and not one that should be forced upon you just to see a home. The good news is that we get to decide when it expires, so although you may have to sign one, if you’re not ready yet to fully commit to a Realtor, you can always request an agreement that expires in a day, a week, a month, etc.. lastly, please don’t yell at your local realtors if they want you to sign something before showing you a home. We don’t have a choice.”

To those that don't know Lacy, she lives in Lubbock. She is newly licensed and still in the process of building her real estate business this past year.
If you feel called to give, every little bit will help. Her husband was a plumber and the main provider for their family.
Lacy - we love you - and are praying for your family during this awful heartbreaking time.
