Words cannot express the sadness that we feel tonight for Charlie’s wife, children, and his loved ones. May they lean on God for peace that surpasses all understanding.
Today, the world lost a true champion of free speech—a man who fostered open, honest dialogue with all, regardless of age, race, gender, belief, ideology, or background. From the scholar to the unschooled, he engaged without prejudice, fearlessly discussing any topic. Grounded in his deep faith in Jesus Christ and an unwavering love for his country, he shared his convictions not to belittle, but to enlighten, offering fresh perspectives and challenging the indoctrination often imposed by the ivory towers of academia.
His mission was not to divide, but to unite through civil discourse. He showed that we can agree to disagree without animosity, modeling respectful, direct conversations that reject inflammatory rhetoric in favor of fostering independent thought.
He inspired a generation of free thinkers—individuals liberated to question, seek, and explore truth without fear. He opened doors that hatred and blind judgment would keep shut, boldly proclaiming that all people are created equal and can come together for the betterment of themselves and society.
Though one voice has been silenced, countless others will rise to carry his legacy forward.
“Men often hate each other because they fear each other; they fear each other because they don't know each other; they don't know each other because they can not communicate; they can not communicate because they are separated.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
