This is a great tool for public lands in Michigan!

Great news for folks prepping for their fall hunts! The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has launched an updated version of MiHunt, the state’s interactive mapping tool for public hunting lands.

We've rebuilt this tool based on feedback from hunters, to make it easy to find a place to hunt. Key Features of the Updated MiHunt:

✅ Customizable Map View: The map opens showing only public hunting lands. Users build their own view by manually turning on specific layers, ensuring only requested data appears.

✅ Selectable Data Layers: Switchable layers include species management unit boundaries, forest cover types, land management agencies, and special hunting areas (such as Hunting Access Program properties, Turkey Tracts, and Grouse Enhanced Management Sites).

✅ Spatial Data Import: Users can import private spatial data including property boundaries, waypoints, or previous tracks to view alongside DNR layers. Imported data remains private and visible only to the user who added it.
