PCS'ing soon?
After placement on your follow-on PCS assignment, you will receive an email from IPPS-A titled "Member Elections." You MUST complete this questionnaire to determine your eligibility for various entitlements and finalize the PCS process, allowing you to receive your official orders. *All determinations are based on official regulations.

IPPS-A Workflow Reminder-
While contractors may assist in preparing PCS orders, only authorized government personnel may approve funded orders, ensuring accountability and protection of pay and benefits.

Once you receive your orders, you must submit a PCS Events Absence, through the PAID tile (Absence Type: 05 - PCS Events), and link the related PCS Assignment. When submitting your PCS Events Absence, you can now:
Include a maximum of three absence reasons in addition to your travel days for a single PCS absence request.
Combine a Parental Absence with a PCS Absence.
Avoid mistakenly choosing multiple of the same type of Absence within the PCS Event Request.
Select a previously used contact/address without re-entering the information.
These updates are designed to improve the Soldier Experience. IPPS-A regularly updates their PCS Webpage, helping you stay up-to-date on changes in the system: https://ipps-a.army.mil/Drive-the-Change/PCS-Season/

This isn’t an “I told you so.” This is me trying—again—to make sure our community stays informed and empowered.

Right now, our neighborhood is being assigned home values that simply don’t match reality. Some properties are being valued at $425,000, yet no home here has ever sold anywhere near that number.
The last larger home sold for $295,000, two smaller ones sold for $265,000, and the highest sale in our entire neighborhood is $315,000.

So the question we should all be asking is simple: How are these values being assessed—and why aren’t they aligned with actual market data?

If these numbers don’t make sense to you either, now is the time to speak up. When enough neighbors raise their voices, we can demand transparency, accuracy, and fairness. Staying silent only allows the problem to grow.

Let’s stand together, get informed, and make sure our community is valued honestly and responsibly.

🚨 Long County Homeowners: How to File Your Property Tax Appeal 🚨

📣 Long County Neighbors: Don’t Let This Tax Hike Go Unchallenged! 📣

The deadline to contest your property tax assessment is December 11, 2025. If you believe your new property value is inflated and unfair, you MUST file your appeal before then.

---

Folks, Long County just completed its first full property tax reassessment in 18 years. Many of us are seeing sharp increases in assessed values, which directly translates into higher tax bills—even though county officials claim the millage rate hasn’t changed. Let’s be clear: when values are raised across the board, taxes go up. Period.

This is more than numbers on paper. It’s about families being squeezed, veterans and retirees on fixed incomes being forced to pay more, and hardworking residents footing the bill for growth they didn’t ask for. Property taxes should reflect fair market value, not inflated estimates that pad government coffers.

Here’s why we must act:
- Unjust burden: Higher assessments mean higher taxes, even if your income hasn’t increased.
- Transparency gap: The county canceled public hearings until after appeals are over—that means our voices are being sidelined.
- Community impact: Rising taxes discourage responsible homeownership and hurt local businesses.

👉 What you can do right now:
- File your written appeal with the Long County Tax Assessor’s Office by December 11, 2025. Appeals must be mailed or delivered in person—email and fax are NOT accepted.
- Use the official PT-311A appeal form from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
- Spread the word to friends, family, and neighbors. The more appeals filed, the stronger our collective stand against unfair taxation.

This isn’t just about one bill—it’s about protecting our community from being priced out of our own homes. Stand up, speak out, and file your appeal before December 11th. Together, we can push back against this unjust tax hike and demand fairness for Long County families.

---

Don’t wait until it’s too late—contest your inflated property value today. Long County deserves fairness, not hidden tax hikes.
