Here’s what happened ⬇️
On the night of January 23rd, 2020, the historic Bedford Middle School building, that was built in the 1920s, caught fire
Only 5 minutes later, the fire trucks showed up to lots of smoke and a fire
That fire evenually caused several roofs to collapse just 30 minutes after the first 911 call
Good news: Nobody got hurt
The building was actually in the process of being renovated at the time
Nobody was in the building
But this was 5 years ago.
Where does this building stand now?
Do you think you could save a building after it got burnt to a crisp?
Waukeshaw Development, a developer that specializes in reimagining historical properties in smaller cities/towns, headquarterd in Petersburg VA, was tasked with re-imaginging the property
Did they build a super walmart? Nope
Did they build a data center? Defintiely not
They brought this historic building back to life and turned it into apartments
No millennial gray apartments here
This is thoughtful design that pays homage to the beautiful architecture of a previous generatoin
On October 22nd, the Flora is now open for immediate move-ins
(and NO, this is not sponsored - your boy isn’t balling like that 😂)
The Flora features a rooftop deck with amazing views of The Peaks of Otter
Courtyards, communal spaces, and innovative design across 59 apartments
The Flora features 1 and 2 bedroom apartments that range from 520 to 904 square feet
It’s all happening right in Bedford County
