Coming from Virginia, I was totally shocked to see this. I’m wondering if all of the federal workers, agencies, and military have something to do with this.

Is your state getting more than it gives to the feds?

A recent report sheds some light on which states receive the most federal spending compared to what their residents and businesses pay in taxes.

The difference between these figures is called the balance of payments. And, according to the report from the Rockefeller Institute of Government, 13 states send more money to the federal government than they receive.

One of the main reason I go to these real estate conventions is to get current economic data. For years the Realtors Land Institute has had one of the best real estate economists, Dr, Mark Dotzour. When it comes to politics, he tends to dislike all politicians and makes fun of all of them. I have posted several of his slides. My take away from him is: 1) The Biden and Trump years did and are doing nothing to make housing affordable. 2) Elon Musk can’t be trusted. 3) we will see a recession in 2026. 4) We need someone like Jerome Powell in charge of the Federal Reserve. 4) Trump administration is not improving our economy and is making housing unaffordable for our children.
