Working on my office space/clubhouse! It’s so fun and creative to make a space feel truly your own. Here are some budget friendly ideas, for when you move into your new home!

When I started developing my office for Pace Real Estate, it was a total blank slate. I originally thought I wanted a white and neutral look, but I am not great at executing the clean palate and I eventually wanted some pops of color.

The space was originally used as a hayloft, above a carriage house-type garage, so the original floor was rough planks, which would be my sub-floor. I was not in love with any of the flooring products I found, and building materials are crazy expensive right now. So, I searched on Pinterest for cheap flooring ideas, and saw that birch plywood actually looks very nice! I also discovered a stain called "viridian green" I love the name and the color, so it was a go.

In the middle of all this, I found a meditation pillow with great colors, so I decided to use this as my new color palate. It had a lot of pink, so I bought some hot pink couch pillows on amazon to match.

I got my railing at Vermont Salvage in White River Junction, and it was magically the right length. There was not one extra inch; I used all they had. I secured it to raw-wood posts, so this was a good place to add more of that hot pink!

My next move will be to acquire some inexpensive, large art that goes with my new colorful palate. I have also decided to replace my ugly metal desk with a large round table that will also serve as a conference table to host client meetings, closings, and gatherings with good friends and neighbors.

My original neutral palate has fallen by the wayside, but my space is unfolding to represent all that I love and everything my business embodies: joy and excitement for a new home, warmth and memories that goes with making a space your own, and a comfortable pace of life that’s sustainable in the long run. I look forward to continuing to host clients in my office to learn about how I can help them find the perfect space for them!
