Days left until Come From Away reaches its next destination of North Shore Music Theatre.

11 is obvious in it's relation to the show. It's the day we never wished happened but that WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Also, performance #11 (Thursday 9/24) for this cast of Come From Away my favorite performance of the show runs to go to this season as it is Out At The North Shore with a number of musical performances by the cast and crew following the show. It is an amazing night of community, entertainment, talent, acceptance, and love. Come by this fun time after the show sponsored by North Shore Pride, Harborview Inn of Gloucester, North of Boston,and myself, Nicholas Newhall - Realtor. It is very casual and you can stay for 5 minutes or even a couple hours many of the nights!

So the story behind this show is as a community promoting hope and food will even in the darkest of days. Cancer is not something that anyone wants to deal with, but we all know someone that is or has been effected by it. So 12 is central to the show as there are 12 main roles filling 12 tracks on stage using primarily 12 chairs for the props in this show (I'm kind of interested in seeing how the crew that I usually see moving stuff has with this limited amount of props).

Also, performance #12 for this cast of Come From Away is one of my favorite nights in the show runs as that is To Show We Care's Night On The Town at North Shore Music Theatre. I'm sharing the post from the Night Out for Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to show some of what the night entails and spotlight this great group of volunteers that I get to be with at these events. This is an amazing thing down by a small business that is doing what they can to help make their communities stronger.

Check out the link for MillTown Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical and think of them when when you have your next plumbing, heating, cooling, or electrical need in their coverage area. Businesses that give back in their communities strengthen all around and are a backbone to our success. That said, they depend on your business, to help them continue their mission. Not all places do give back.

One of the non-profits up in the vote this month are my friends at Voices of Hope Boston. So if you're able to take a minute, go to the site and give a quick vote for VOH. All of the non-profits I'm sure are deserving and all of them are likely in need of funds this year. But I've met some of the members of VOH and they are dedicated to sharing their talents to raise money in the fight to end cancer and everyone will at some point know someone going through cancer.

While you're at it, think about seeing a fun show next month as VOH performs "The Beat Goes On" at North Shore Music Theatre featuring songs (pop, musical, theme, jingles, etc) of the 60s performed live on stage. Great tickets still available for this fun night.

First, stopped by the North Shore Music Theatre today and sign above the box office entry looks great (couldn't get a good angle because of the sun).

So 13 was easier. Come From Away has won a total of 13 awards globally out of the 37 nominations it has received in its time on stage. The cast is rehearsing and sounded very enthusiastic to be a part of this performance. You won't want to miss it!

So 14 was a tougher number to associate with the show but an interesting coincidence is that on 9/17, NSMT will be one of 14 professional/regional/community theatres between the US and Canada currently licensed to perform the show. The most famous of these theatres happened to also be host to another of the most tragic days in American history, also strangely being the 14th, as on April 14, 1865, in a theatre, President Abraham Lincoln was shot by JWB and passed the next morning, and this year on 9/17, Ford's Theatre will share being one of the 14 theatres with Come From Away on stage along with NSMT.

First, don't risk it and make sure to buy your tickets direct from the theatre. I have seen a couple of ads online recently for this show from third party sellers - these tickets are often FAR more expensive and all-too-often are fake tickets so contact the theatre directly for tickets to your performance of choice.

So there are a few that I see:

One is while the CD shows 23 songs, many guides and critics say that the show has "15 distinct musical numbers or core song sequences" per Google.

Two, there are 15 performances of Come From Away scheduled at North Shore Music Theatre starting on 9/16.

But my favorite reference of 15 is that on most breakdowns of the show, the 15th song tells you the only 3 ways to become a true or honorary Newfoundlander ... although I would argue there was a fourth added (reference Diane and I think she may have picked the right option).

This one I couldn't find a good number association for as I count down the days until it opens.

Opening Night of Come From Away at North Shore Music Theatre is 9/16 and is 16 days from now. On the 16th, the cast will grace the stage twice with a matinee followed by opening night and will start what I can only imagine will be a very pack house for the show run.

Days left until Come From Away reaches its next destination of North Shore Music Theatre .

According to Google, our neighbors to the north in Canada had 17 airports take on emergency landings with displaced people from all over the world as part of Operating Yellow Ribbon.

Halifax ranked first for total aircraft landed at 47 planes while the small communities around the Gander airport (population of roughly 10,000) took 38 planes (34 commercial and 4 military) and nearly 7,000 stranded passengers while the much larger Vancouver area landed 34 planes and the largest number of passengers. Sources estimate that the entire country of Canada took between 224 and 250 planes re-routed for immediate grounding when the US ground plane order was given for the first and only time in US history by FAA National Operations Manager Ben Sliney on his FIRST day in that role. It is estimated that between 6,500 and 7,000 (likely closer to 7,000) were stranded in the Gander area roughly doubling its population in mere hours. This is out of the roughly 33,000 total passengers diverted with varying totals between 30,000 and 45,000 according to Google searches.
