I often get asked the question, βWhat does FJH stand for?β So I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to share the story behind the name for those who may not know.
My Dad, Andy Junior Johnson β better known to many as Junior, Buck, or simply Dad in my case β has three children: Field, Jesse, and Hunter. So when he and my older brother, Field Johnson, started FJH, Incorporated, a timber company specializing in buying and selling timber, the decision on a name wasnβt too difficult. He named it after us. After his family.
What started as a business name became something much greater β a representation of hard work, commitment, family values, and legacy. His hope was that at least one of us would carry the business and the name forward for years to come.
At the time FJH Inc. was getting started, I was finishing up college at Mississippi State University and still trying to figure out exactly where my Marketing degree would lead me. But real estate always seemed to pull at me. My Dad had previously been both a Real Estate Broker and a Certified General Appraiser, so I guess you could say it was simply in my blood.
Six years later, FJH Realty was born.
I considered choosing a completely different name when I stepped into the real estate world, but no matter how much I thought about it, I kept coming back to FJH. The meaning behind it was simply too important to walk away from. FJH represented my family, my roots, my legacy, and my home.
Over the years, it has been incredibly rewarding to watch the FJH name continue to grow across multiple industries. FJH, Inc. continues to thrive in the timber industry, and in 2014, Field expanded the family business even further by adding FJH Logging, LLC. At the same time, FJH Realty has continued to grow beyond anything I could have imagined, with additional agents joining our real estate family along the way, including my Mom, Kathy Johnson. Watching the business evolve while still holding tight to the same family values it was founded on has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Looking back now, I will forever be grateful for the day I took that leap into real estate. My Dad, my brother, and my husband, Rob Bland, stood beside me every step of the way, encouraging me and supporting me as I worked tirelessly to build a name and continue growing the FJH legacy within the real estate industry.
And has it been hard? Hard doesnβt even begin to describe it.
Over the last almost 15 years, there have been long days, sleepless nights, difficult markets, setbacks, sacrifices, and moments of uncertainty. But there has also been growth, purpose, gratitude, and countless blessings along the way.
One thing I know for certain is this: success in this industry requires consistency, resilience, faith, hard work, and the willingness to keep showing up even when things get tough. Especially when things get tough.
Real estate is not for the faint of heart.
So if I could give one piece of advice to anyone aspiring to make it in this business, it would simply be this:
If you have even the smallest bit of quit in you, this business is probably not for you.
Because nothing truly worthwhile comes easy.
And for me, giving up was never an option β not when the name on the sign means family. β€οΈπ‘
