Interesting that Dare County in the Outer Banks is considering discontinuing its use of Flock Cameras 📷 - this article from WAVY tv is interesting.

Dare County has become the first locality in the area to end the use of Flock license plate reader cameras under the sheriff's jurisdiction, the decision coming as a growing list of communities reconsider automated vehicle surveillance amid public privacy concerns. Supporters of the technology, though, emphasize that the cameras capture information visible in public spaces.

Tonight - LOVE FEST ❤️, don’t miss the fun, the food, the music 🎵!

LOVEFest is almost here and we’re excited to welcome day-trippers to this fun, free event! Enjoy all the favorites from last year, including a ’60s-themed band, a beautifully decorated park, a Best ’60s Costume Contest, a special Love Potion cocktail alongside our usual w**e and b**r selections, and a variety of food vendors.

Tomorrow night (9/5). Food and drinks will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by the concert from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Admission is free!

Reducing menhaden fishing quotas will help the osprey population find more food ! Comments on the proposal to reduce menhaden fishing close on October 9 th.

The population of Osprey in the saltier portions of the Chesapeake Bay is declining dramatically due to the overfishing of menhaden on which the Osprey rely as a principal food source.

Public comment period is open until October 9th. And acting this proposal could have a very positive effect on many things, including the Osprey population here on the Eastern Shore. 

Saving menhaden helps save the bay. Now, evidence of a crisis is impossible to ignore.
