Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) Announces Vaccine Clinics.

A limited number of COVID-19 vaccination appointments are now available through the Madera County Department of Public Health.

Those identified as currently eligible at www.maderacounty.com/covid19vaccine: health care workers, long-term care staff and residents, medical first responders, and anyone aged 75 YEARS AND OLDER are eligible to register for an appointment. The vaccination clinics will take place on January 27th, 29th, and 30th. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis for those eligible.

MCDPH is following the phased approach to vaccine distribution outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health. This approach prioritizes high-risk groups and those who interact most with COVID-19 patients. Madera County is currently in Phase 1B.

MCDPH Director Sara Bosse says, “Priority registration for an appointment was given to those who unfortunately had their appointments cancelled earlier this month. Now it’s time to open up registration and continue toward the goal of vaccinating Madera County. We hope we will receive a steady and increasing supply of vaccines – we are ready to administer as many as we receive.”

MCDPH has also partnered with Madera County Sheriff’s Office to include COVID-19 vaccine updates into the informational alert system already in place for local fires and other emergencies. From any cell phone, simply text “MADERAVAX” to 888-777 to receive these updates.
