New business coming to Concord!

Well it is official, the incredible off market deal we found in Concord has been sold. In the near future, a local business will be working to build a new facility in our small (but growing) town!

This opportunity was a needle in a haystack, the kind of deal that is put together with a lot of networking, calling other locals, and doing everything I can behind the scenes to find the perfect opportunity. I wish I had counted the amount of “No’s” I had before I finally found a “Yes”!

When a business is involved, the focus becomes on what that business needs to succeed. We avoid properties that force the business to make sacrifices, knowing that it could negatively impact their success. In this case, the needs seemed nearly impossible to find at times, but we pressed on and made it a reality!

I will leave the big announcement up to the business when the time is right, after all, this is their moment to shine! Congrats!!!

Will Smith Mountain Lake return to normal this summer?

Like and share my page if you want routine updates on the droughts affects @ Smith Mountain Lake this summer.

The water levels at Smith Mountain Lake are down significantly, and it is the topic of the summer around here. Today I jumped on the boat to see the lake for myself, and I was pleasantly surprised! Despite being down several feet, I did not have any issues at the dock or going across the lake.

With that being said, there are plenty of areas where you should be cautious - underground shoals are now very much exposed, and it is not uncommon to come across shallow areas when running around points and between islands. Most personal docks "looked" ok, others looked challenging to get in and out. Based on some of the reports of different ramps in the area, it appears that launching your boat still may have some complications depending on type of boat and ramp location.

What is the consensus - Is the water level Smith Mountain Lake going to return to normal this summer?
