My aunt was more like another mother. She was the one lifting ppl up, encouraging others and always letting ppl know God is good even in the trials and tribulations.

I don't become the woman I am without her. I'm so grateful I got to return that love and encouragement in her final days. Taking care of her was an honor.

Growing up when we didn't have any games/tournament/work my daddy would pick a random direction and drive. These impromptu road trips often ended with us at the Embassy Suites. Present day I can't walk into that hotel and not automatically think of Hollis 🥰 He wasnt a millionaire but made us soooo rich. Teachings, lectures and wisdom that I hold so dear. I love and miss you Daddy. Your grandkids are getting to experience that same richness. Just wish you were here to see. Ill always and forever continue to make you proud. 🥹🖤

This weekend was fun filled with many blessings!

Mason received the principal award at his awards ceremony. He will be in general education classroom full time starting this summer ☀️

Callies 1st dance recital. Lets be clear she was a star shining bright on stage✨️

Today started off weird. I was emotional because my MIL has been heavy on my mind. If you knew her she was all about Easter. I would have had the kids clothes and Easter baskets a month ago🤣

Then it was 30 degrees cooler than expected so Callies outfit wasnt appropriate and I didnt have a back up. Her hair isnt "freshly" done. I didnt wash and style my hair like I was supposed to so I was this close 🤏🏽 to saying forget it I won't go to church. But nope the devil is a liar, we going.

We our on way, before even getting outta our neighborhood a car turns in front of me and almost took us out. 🫣

Once we arrived I knew I was supposed to be there. The title tagged to today's sermon was "He made a way". What a mighty God we serve 🙌🏾 I was teary the entire service 😢 😭 ❤️

And just like that we have a 10 year old 🥹 Mason its been fun adventure being your mommy and even in the challenges you are still such a bright light. You've taught me to slow down and not sweat the "little" stuff. My prayer is you continue to keep your jovial humorous spirit and continue to the bright light to the world you were birthed to be. Wanted to share an awesome word from church service this morning!

Pastor Mike is teaching a series about things that steal your purpose.

Topic for today was Comparison. The fastest way to kill something special is to compare to something else. This dismisses what god is doing.

Here are 3 ways Comparison can be dangerous.

1) Comparison distracts from your assignment.
I have been designed to be a solution to a problem but I cant fulfill my assignment/purpose when I am looking sideways.

2)Comparison distorts your identity. Stop seeing yourself less than but chosen!

3)Comparison drains your contentment.
When drained from contentment it leads to chaos therefore you miss the miracle, miss the breakthrough, miss the blessings in your life that are often answered prayers.

Transparency moment, this is something I struggle with. Especially with my kids and parenting. Motherhood doesn't look like what I "planned". And although its not what I exactly prayed for the promise of Motherhood has been fulfilled so I have to start focusing on being faithful to "my" lane and god will be faithful to his purpose in MY life! Today I have delivered from looking sideways 🥹🙌🏾

Today is extra special! Its a dual celebration. You are loved, valued and respected every day but today is a day I make sure I scream it from the mountain top. We have been together half of our lives at this point and you have always been consistent, hardworking, a true provider, and much more and Im so grateful 🙏🏽🥲 Our friendship has been the foundation built on with love and laughter. Words truly will never convey the love and admiration I have for you. But I will try to show you with actions for all my days. I love you Lavon Shannon!
