The Indiana General Assemby passed changes to property and personal property taxes as a part of Senate Enrolled Act 1 that took effect on January 1st, 2026.

The Over-65 Deduction and Blind or Disabled Deduction will convert to credits of $150 and $125, respectively, beginning with taxes assessed for 2025 and due in 2026.

The Indiana General Assemby passed changes to property and personal property taxes as a part of Senate Enrolled Act 1 that took effect on January 1s, 2026.

An additional credit will be taken off of property taxes with Homestead Deduction eligibility, $300 or 10% of the taxes assessed, whichever is lower.

The Indiana General Assemby passed changes to property and personal property taxes as a part of Senate Enrolled Act 1 that took effect on January 1st, 2026.

The Standard Homestead Deduction will continue to decrease and the Supplemental Homestead Deduction will continue to increase until property taxes assessed in 2030 and due in 2031 will have no Standard Deduction and 60% Supplemental Deduction.

The Indiana General Assemby passed changes to property and personal property taxes as a part of Senate
Enrolled Act 1 that took effect on January Ist, 2026.

For taxes assessed for 2025 (paid in 2026), the supplemental homestead deduction will be calculated at 40% (up from 37.5%) of the remaining assessed value after the standard homestead deduction is applied.

Enrolled Act 1 that took effect on January 1st, 2026.

For taxes assessed for 2025 (paid in 2026), the standard homestead deduction will remain $48,000, then begin to drop each year until it reaches $0 for taxes assessed for 2030.
