When life feels like it’s spinning out of control, the temptation is to spin faster.
We add more to the calendar.
We stay up later.
We try harder.
We push through.
But I’ve learned that some seasons aren’t asking us to do more. They’re asking us to slow down long enough to hear God’s voice.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, here are a few things that help me reset:
✨ 1. Give yourself grace for the season you’re in.
Not every season is meant to look the same. There are seasons of planting, seasons of harvest, seasons of rest, and seasons of rebuilding. Stop comparing today’s capacity to what you could do six months ago.
✨ 2. Focus on the next right step.
God rarely shows me the entire staircase. Most of the time, He gives me one step. Clarity often comes after obedience, not before it.
✨ 3. Simplify everything.
When life feels chaotic, reduce the number of decisions you’re making. What absolutely needs your attention today? Start there.
✨ 4. Get quiet before God.
Not to perform.
Not to check a box.
Just to sit with Him.
Some of the greatest breakthroughs in my life came after I stopped talking and started listening.
✨ 5. Pray honestly.
God isn’t intimidated by your fears, frustrations, or questions. Bring Him the real version of you, not the polished version.
✨ 6. Remember what He’s already done.
When my faith feels shaky, I revisit the prayers He’s already answered. Yesterday’s faithfulness becomes fuel for today’s trust.
Friend, if you’re in a hard season, this is your reminder:
You don’t have to have all the answers.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
You don’t have to figure out the next year today.
Just take the next step.
Say the next prayer.
Trust God with the rest.
📖 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” - Proverbs
