🇺🇸 FIREWORKS & NOISE ORDINANCE REMINDER 🇺🇸
As families across Madison County prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. If you’re planning to celebrate with fireworks, please be mindful of your neighbors and familiarize yourself with Madison County’s Noise Ordinance.
Fireworks may be used without noise restrictions between 10:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on the following dates:
🎆 January 1
🎆 Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
🎆 July 3 & July 4
🎆 Labor Day (first Monday in September)
🎆 December 31
On all other dates, the Madison County Noise Ordinance applies:
★ Noise exceeding 85 dB(A) between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
★ Noise exceeding 75 dB(A) between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
(measured at the property line or adjacent public roadway)
Violations of the Noise Ordinance are a Class C misdemeanor and may result in enforcement action.
🚨Please do not call 911 solely to report fireworks unless there is an immediate threat to life, property, or public safety. Keeping emergency lines available ensures dispatchers can quickly respond to true emergencies. We encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, be considerate of your neighbors, and help make this Independence Day a safe and enjoyable one for all.
Happy Fourth of July from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office! 🇺🇸
