Something interesting is happening in Wisconsin's housing market and the data tells a story most people haven't heard yet.

Home values are up 5.3%, placing Wisconsin 2nd in the nation for appreciation. But here's the twist: for 16 years straight, Wisconsin was actually losing residents every year. Net negative migration from 2005 all the way to 2021.

Then the trend reversed.

Over the last two years, Wisconsin has seen migration levels it hasn't experienced in over two decades. People are choosing to move here and that demand is showing up in home prices.

What's driving people to Wisconsin? Three things worth watching: job growth and wages, affordability compared to neighboring states like Illinois and Minnesota, and the quality of education.
