Time for spring cleaning

As spring yard cleanup continues, please keep the following compost collection guidelines in mind:

- Compost materials (grass clippings, yard waste, twigs and small breakable branches), are required to be contained in compost bags or placed in a 33-gallon can (maximum 50 lbs.) with a City of Madison compost sticker. 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐬.
- Compost bags and stickers are available for purchase at City Hall, 101 W. Main Street ($1 per bag; $20 for an annual sticker).
- Compost is collected on the same day as your regular garbage pickup.
- Larger limbs (exceeding 4 inches in diameter, or over 6 feet) should be stacked horizontally at the curb. To schedule pickup, call the Street Department at 812-265-8304.
- If you hire a company to trim limbs or branches, you are responsible for ensuring they are taken off your property. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐮𝐩 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝/𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤.
