🛶 Have you ever wondered why it's called Linger Longer Road?

The story goes back to Mercer Reynolds Sr., who was from Greensboro, Georgia. In the early 1930s he bought land along the Oconee River in Greene County and built a rustic getaway for hunting and fishing. He called it "Linger Longer" - and it stayed the family retreat for decades.

Then in 1980, Georgia Power finished Wallace Dam, and the reservoir filled in. The original Linger Longer retreat is actually submerged beneath Lake Oconee. 🌊

But the name never disappeared. More than 90 years later, you'll still find the name Linger Longer all over this part of Lake Oconee.

So next time you drive down that road, just remember what's actually sitting underneath it. 👀

Here are 3 historic homes with absolutely insane backstories 👀

1️⃣ Foster-Thomason-Miller House
A literature buff's dream - Oscar Wilde is said to have inspired a former resident, who came home and drew from this beautiful architecture for the design.

2️⃣ Stokes-McHenry House
Owned by the same family for 8 generations, dating back to the 1820s. When soldiers came through during the Civil War, one reportedly sat down and played the piano - and things got even crazier from there.

3️⃣ Poullain Heritage House
Built by Antoine Poullain, a French general who came to support the Americans. The family reportedly spoke only French at their dinners, and the home stood for 120 years, into 1980.

So next time you drive past homes like these, just remember - some of the craziest stories in town are hiding behind those front doors.

🔥 **This market is on fire and homes are flying off the market.**

Probably not what you expected to hear, right?

With all the headlines about interest rates, affordability, and doom and gloom in real estate, it can feel like **nothing is selling.**

But that’s simply not the whole story.

🏡 In just the last couple of weeks, I’ve had **two different properties receive multiple offers.**

The market has changed — **but that doesn’t mean it has stopped.**

The homes that are moving tend to have a few things in common:

✅ They’re turnkey
✅ They’re priced correctly
✅ They’re marketed aggressively

This is not the market where you can throw a sign in the yard, upload a few photos, and expect the offers to roll in.
