May has been one of the busiest months ever! Lots of friends finding their future homes and starting to plan their home search on the real estate front, but also - we are wrapping up Mental Health Awareness Month in Madison! I was honored to help plan many events throughout the month with Journey Mental Health Center.

A Drag Bingo Fundraiser, a youth mental health panel and luncheon with some amazing community leaders, and a fireseide chat where olympic marathon medalist Molly Seidel spoke candidly about her struggles with OCD and an eating disorder and reframing her view of success. We raised $68,000 for mental health access in our community. 👏👏👏

These conversations matter because mental health affects every part of a community - the people we love, the people we work with, the kids growing up around us. Journey answered over 35,000 crisis calls last year....that's almost 100 a day! This is important work.

I recently won the “Quantum Leaper” award at our holiday party, which means I doubled my business year over year. I'm all about honesty here, so let's have an important discussion about something that could very easily look like a highlight reel...

Back in 2019, Zach and I closed 30 deals in one year, and we got an award for that too. It was a huge season for us and we just wanted to keep growing and growing.

Then a lot of LIFE happened (😵‍💫). Fast-forward to 2024 - just me - I sold 5 houses by myself.

And in 2025, I sold 11.

So yes, I doubled. But honestly, that 11 number was hard to hear. It's hard to get excited about rebuilding when you know what your “peak” once looked like. And when you see colleagues and friends winning bigger with every scroll.

This past year has been rebuilding from the GROUND up. It requires a different kind of grit...a grit I didn't really feel like I had.

But I guess it's important to acknowledge that this 11 number still does signify massive growth for me, even if a previous version of me would have seen it as a step backward.

Losing what felt like everything has required me to change how I measure success - which is so so hard! It makes you realize how much it matters to be surrounded by people who don’t only cheer when the numbers are big.

So, can I win this award next year? I’m gonna try!!

But I also want to say this out loud - not every “win” feels good right away. And not every highlight reel tells the whole story.

Here’s to building again… and maybe making “11” look tiny next year. 🔥

If selling is even KIND OF on your radar this year, now’s a good time to talk.
Here’s why:

The sellers who have the easiest experience don’t rush. 🤗

A rough example:
If you want to be moved out by July, you’re usually aiming to:
-prep the house in March/April
-list in late April or May
-accept an offer a few weeks later
-and close 30–45 days after that

So starting early means:
❌ you’re not panic-cleaning
❌ you’re not making rushed decisions
✅ you actually have time to prep the house the right way
✅ pricing feels thoughtful and not desperate

I’m getting ready for a listing appointment this weekend, and it’s a good reminder of how much smoother this process is when people plan ahead.

The sellers who do that usually feel calmer, more in control, and their homes simply show better. This is why I always encourage early conversations!
