Lap joints on a metal roof matter. The anti-siphon channel is suppose to be underneath to prevent water from siphoning over the ridge. When installed incorrectly, there is a chance for leaks. Around 20% to 30% of the metal roofs I inspect are installed incorrectly. If you are having a metal roof installed, check the installation. The anti-siphon part has a flat on one side and should be on the bottom of the lap.
