The borough of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, is nestled in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains in the northeast corner of Bergen County, below the towns of Ramsey and Mahwah and between the towns of Oakland and Wyckoff. Franklin Lakes is a great place to live, especially for families. The local schools are highly ranked, with low student-to-teacher ratios for all grades. The natural surroundings, composed of wooded hills, lush lowlands, and nearly two dozen lakes and ponds, provide a beautiful setting for all four seasons. In the spring, summer, and autumn, you can hike along miles of picturesque trails in the Franklin Lakes Nature Preserve; and in the winter, you can ice skate on the smaller lakes in the area.
