✔ Making a plan for pets and family members

A little preparation now can make a big difference later.

🌱 Rooted Broker Notes

Burnout is a real conversation in our industry.

But I don’t think it’s always because agents are working too hard.

Sometimes it’s because we’re trying to do everything.

Lead generation.
Marketing.
Social media.
Contracts.
Compliance.
Client communication.
Scheduling.
Problem solving.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, we’re trying to have a personal life too.

The reality is that not every agent has to build their business the same way.

You don’t have to master every platform.
You don’t have to chase every strategy.
You don’t have to wear every hat.

What you do need is consistency, self-awareness, and a business structure that works for YOU.

Because burnout isn’t always about working harder.

Sometimes it’s about trying to carry too much alone.

🌱 From the Rooted Garden

There’s something special about making a meal from ingredients you grew yourself. 🌿

Today’s cucumber salad started with a trip to the garden.

Fresh cucumbers.
Two different kinds of onions.
All grown right here at home.

Simple ingredients.
Simple preparation.
And honestly, some of the best flavors come from the simplest things.

One of my favorite parts of gardening is watching the journey from seed… to harvest… to the table.

It makes you appreciate every bite just a little more.

Summer is in full swing around here, and the garden is starting to give back. 🥒🧅💚

Rooted in Compliance 🌱

A lot of agents think creating the LLC is the final step.

It’s not.

In real estate, creating the entity is only part of the process.

If you want to be paid through your LLC, PA, or PLLC here in Florida, it must be properly registered and connected to your real estate license according to state requirements and your brokerage procedures.

And this is where agents accidentally create compliance issues.

They:
✔️ create the LLC
✔️ open the bank account
✔️ start branding the business

…but never properly connect the entity to their license.

Then it’s time to get paid…
and everything stops.

Compliance is not just about avoiding problems.

It’s about building your business correctly from the beginning.

🌿 Rooted in Sanford

People usually see the big events… the festivals, live music, food trucks, and packed weekends downtown.

And yes… I love all of that.

But sometimes my favorite Sanford moments are quieter.

Walking Yeti through the historic district.
Seeing the giant flag waving by the lakefront.
Brick streets and old homes full of character.
Little hidden details like a pineapple gate or stained glass windows.
Stopping to appreciate places like the Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center.
And saying goodbye to places like Brix & Mortar that became part of so many good memories over the years. 🖤

This town has personality. History. Charm.
It feels lived in… loved… and deeply local.

That’s why I love it here.

Not every “Rooted in Sanford” post has to be a party.
Sometimes it’s just everyday Sanford… and honestly, that’s pretty special too.

🌱 From the Rooted Garden

I’ve never done a garden tour before… so this felt like the perfect weekend for one. 🌿

This holiday weekend, I’m planning to spend a lot of time out here — cleaning things up, planting, reorganizing, and getting everything ready for the next stage of growth.

So I figured I’d show you the garden exactly as it is right now.

Some areas are thriving…
some are still a work in progress…
and some just need me to finally fix a sprinkler issue before I can get my native plants in the ground 😅

But honestly… that’s gardening.

A little messy.
A little unfinished.
Always growing into something new.

This little rooted corner of home is currently full of garlic, onions, spaghetti squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, collards, celery, asparagus, rattlesnake pole beans, bush beans, purple hull peas, lima beans, basil, dill, parsley, peppers of all kinds, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, baby sunflowers, snapdragons, milkweed, a banana tree, Meyer lemon tree… and Peachy — my tree with two kinds of peaches and nectarines growing together. 🌱

And out front?
Florida-friendly and native plants are slowly turning the yard into something even more beautiful.

The best part is… the garden is never really finished.

And honestly, neither am I. 💚
