There are so many different situations where selling to a cash buyer makes much more sense than listing on MLS with a realtor. But everyone's situation is different and there's just not a one-size fits all solution that's best for all sellers.

We decided to do a segment sharing some different examples of situations where it made a lot of sense for a homeowner to sell to a cash buyer like Maui Home Buyers, and some examples of cases where it might seem like it would make sense but hiring a realtor ended up making more sense.

This is the first story in the segment, about a very conservative man who chose to sell to Maui Home Buyers because he didn't want to take any chance on putting him family into a bad situation and once the sale was complete, he felt confident that he made the right decision.

We were featured in this article by Apartment Advisor regarding our pet policies; why we allow pets in all of our rentals, and why we advocate for other landlords to do the same.

It's disheartening to hear the arguments from the landlords and property managers that don't allow pets. Running a business should be a balance between earning a profit and taking care of people and being pono. But I guess not everyone agrees.

We spoke to property owners and managers and other industry professionals to find out what their no pets policies include, and why.

The biggest concern I have is that I think it will take 3-5 years minimum for anyone to get permits and rebuild on Maui.. I really hope I'm wrong.. but if Maui doesn't fast track permits for victims, and banks don't grant victims forbearance, then how are they going to pay their mortgages in addition to renting a home for 5 years???

I feel like this could be insurmountable for many Lahaina residents, but I haven't really heard anyone talking about it, so I think we need to start this conversation, and I think we need to get our government officials to start thinking about and working on a solution (if they aren't already) for victims to get permits to rebuild their homes in a reasonable time.
