OLUNTEERS ARE THE HEART OF OUR CHAPTER
The Massachusetts, Rhode Island & Maine Chapter is stronger because of the professionals who volunteer their time, experience, and ideas to help move our organization forward.
Our volunteer leaders help shape Chapter programs, strengthen professional connections, support education, and create opportunities for members throughout our three states. We’d like to introduce you to some of the people who make that work possible through our Meet Your Chapter Leaders series.
Meet One of Our Chapter Leaders
Christopher Stickney, MAI - Immediate Past President
What inspired you to volunteer with the Chapter?
“The opportunity to build a larger network of peers in the area. What keeps me coming back to support the Chapter is the ability to help shape the larger organization to foster improvement and greater support for the profession and professionals in valuation.”
What do you enjoy most about working in the appraisal profession?
“I enjoy the unique challenges that each assignment presents. One property may require a completely different analysis and understanding than the property on the opposite corner, even though their uses may be the same. I also enjoy getting out into the field, seeing properties, and often having access to areas the general public can’t.”
What’s something fellow Chapter members might be surprised to learn about you?
“I used to have hair! Just kidding. I’m passionate about cooking and make my own marinara.”
Our Chapter needs more leaders like this.
Volunteering is a great way to expand your professional network, share your perspective, develop leadership skills, and have a voice in the future of the appraisal profession.
Whether you have a lot of time to give or just want to get involved in a small way, there’s a place for you. Consider becoming one of our next Chapter volunteers and help us continue building a strong professional community across Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine.
