I have a PhD is staying out of community politics but I cannot stay silent on this one. We cannot have another apocalyptic fire race through our community again incinerating 40 estate homes and not be prepared like 2018. Photos below...or for our our new residents here, simply google it. Terrified yet?! We were left with no resources just like the Palisades and S.E. Malibu recently...look what happened!! GONE! The recent Kenneth fire was far too close for comfort but our volunteer fd was on the scene! We have our very own State certified trained volunteers, gear and trucks now because of what happened to us in 2018. (I still have flashbacks of loading my then 4 and 5 year old in my car at night with the flames in my rearview mirror ). Our volunteer fire department are our first responders for fires, accidents where seconds count, rattle snakes retrieval, saving lives at all times of the day and night! (ask me how I know this first hand!) Their response time is valuable minutes before LAFD etc. get to the scene. It baffles me why our current HOA wants to get rid of them and force us into a recall to save them. Why get rid of a vital service to a community when others wish they had what we have! The only way to save them at this point is to VOTE YES on the Recall. Friends, neighbors, you know who you are and what you have to do to save the very people who protect us and love our community and residents. Thanks for your time.
