Interested in a home in the Wabash Landing Subdivision, but wondering about the process? Check out these 5 commonly asked questions and answers:
1. Do I have to be a flood victim to qualify?
These homes are funded in part by CDBG funds through the Iowa Economic Development Authority to assist in the long-term recovery to the 2019 floods that impacted Mills County residents. You do not need to have been affected by these floods to qualify for a home, but direct victims of the flood will be given first priority.
2. How do I know if I meet the income qualifications?
Income qualifications can be found here: https://wabashlandinghomes.com/qualification-%26-financing
3. If I meet the income qualifications, do I automatically qualify for a home?
Applicants who meet the income qualifications should first apply with SWIPCO to be income-verified. Once verified, applicants still need to secure funding with their preferred lending institution. Meeting the income qualifications does not automatically qualify candidates to purchase a home. https://wabashlandinghomes.com/apply-today
4. How do I get on the waiting list?
The homes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested candidates are encouraged to claim their spot on the waiting list as soon as possible. To get started, apply with SWIPCO: https://wabashlandinghomes.com/apply-today
5. When will the homes be ready?
The first homes will be move-in-ready in Spring 2025 and more will become available throughout the year.
