Town Council Meeting Action Items – October 18
- Town Council conducted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Laurel Mountain Road Project. Planning began for this extensive road and sidewalk project in 2021 that was funded from multiple sources totaling $3.5M.
- Town Council received a presentation from ESTA and Town Staff on proposed changes to the fixed route transit service for winter 2023/24. Winter routes will commence November 10, 2023.
- Town Council adopted an urgency ordinance establishing an initial 45-day moratorium on the issuance of new short-term rental registration certificates pursuant to Town of Mammoth Lakes Municipal Code Title 5. The moratorium does not apply to the housing units in the Resort Zone, North Village or Clearwater Specific Plan areas or to any unit in escrow as of October 18. In addition, Town Council voted to establish an advisory committee made up of key stakeholders in the community to provide recommendations to Town Council on the impact of short-term rentals. Interested parties can send a letter or email to the Town Clerk to serve on this committee.

The Parcel Update
- Construction of The Sawyer (Phase 1 of The Parcel) continues to progress towards completion. Recent construction progress includes siding, windows, paint, and other site circulation improvements.
- Despite the concerted efforts to complete Phase 1 for fall 2023, construction delays have pushed occupancy back to spring 2024. - To get on the interest list for a unit in "The Sawyer" (Parcel Phase 1) or for additional information about the lease-up and move-in process, please contact Buckingham Property Management at (855) 452-8250, Option 0. Buckingham currently has 426 people on their interest list.
- The Sawyer includes 81 apartment units within 2 buildings at several affordability levels and a variety of unit sizes from studio to 3 bedroom, as well as a childcare facility, community space, and public park.

- The inaugural Community Doubles Pickleball Tournament is this Saturday, October 21 beginning at 9am.

- October 21 - Elevate Open House: Join the Mammoth Hospital for a health & wellness community open house from 10am-2pm.
- October 26 - Biannual Mammoth Trails Meeting, Cellar Room at MBC beginning at 6pm.
- October 31 – Halloween in the Trails: 5-8pm in the Trails neighborhood – more details to follow.
- November 5-15 - Sierra Classic Theatre presents the 24th Annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre at various locations throughout Town.
- November 10 - 2023/24 Mammoth Mountain Opening Day!

- Winter parking restrictions - It is a violation of the Town’s Municipal Code to park on any roadway from November 1 through April 30. Please park your vehicle as far off the roadway as possible and inside the orange snow stakes. Overnight parking in Town maintained parking lots is not permitted.
