Are these INSANE CUPCAKES at the Jersey Shore Legit? šŸ§

Is It Legit? with Jersey John ā˜‘ļø

Today guys, weā€™re checking out Simonaā€™s Bakery in Sea Girt.

Is It Legit is a simple concept. No scores. No ratings. Just is a spot legit and worth your time and money to check out. Iā€™m not paid by the establishment, I pay for my food and tip the wait staff.

Hereā€™s my breakdown:

The Atmosphere: Classic, old school feeling Italian bakery with the fresh bread and biscotti on the windows, cake case and display cases that makes it hard to choose what exactly to get. Canā€™t beat the smell when you get out of your car. Legit ā˜‘ļø

The Service: The staff here is amazing. Thereā€™s teachers, thereā€™s college kids, thereā€™s teenagers, all of them are friendly and helpful each time youā€™re in. You get the old school box with the red string and it feels like youā€™re back in Brooklyn. Legit ā˜‘ļø

The Baked Goods: Simona hails from the Del Ponte family. That carries weight in this part of our the Country and Simonaā€™s is her and her husbandā€™s spot to take the family recipes passed down generations and do their spin on them. Simona went to French Baking School and puts a little bit of a different flair to a lot of her baked goods. Cakes, and especially the cupcakes, are an elevated experience here at Simonaā€™s. The cupcakes are absolutely massive, stuffed on the inside and just hit in so many different ways. Theyā€™re amazing. The butter cookies may be my favorite. They make every one by hand and you can tell how much love goes into it. Legit ā˜‘ļø

Recommendation: Get a box of cupcakes, grab a plastic knife, cut them into quarters and have a sample party with friends. The Cannoli Cupcake is top tier and such a great blend. If you love chocolate, the Blackout canā€™t be beat. & if they have it, the Sā€™moreo was heaven in a cupcake. From there, DO NOT MISS the cinnamon buns and apple turnovers. Those babies hit Jersey John in the soul. Honestly try it all.
