Legislative news for NH Markets.

Senate Bill 84 ensures municipalites cannot impose unreasonable and unnecessarily large minimum lot size requirements on new housing construction. The bill passed in a truly bipartisan fashion with 7 Republicans and 7 Democrats voting in favor. The bill now heads to the House of Representatives.

Mortgage rates shifted up slightly this week due to stock market impacts, but overall NH Market news remains comparable to last year at this time. Inventory remains low particularly for Buyers seeking price points under $500K, but rental vacancy rates were up in January/February. The shortage of affordable housing options remains challenging. While some downward price shifting emerged during January/February in both the rental and home buying markets, overall data shows much the same at this stage.
