🏠 Using a Louisiana Fortify Homes Program grant?

The order of the process matters.

Homeowners must apply through the LFHP portal, select and pay a FORTIFIED Evaluator, and complete the initial FORTIFIED evaluation. The FORTIFIED Evaluator documents the existing conditions, identifies items that may need to be addressed for the home to proceed toward a FORTIFIED Roof designation, and submits the required evaluation information through the program process.

The homeowner then uses the program portal to obtain bids from LFHP-approved contractors. Re-roofing or new-roof work should not begin until the contractor has been selected and the required bid and approval process is complete.

Careful evaluation and documentation throughout the roofing process help keep the home moving toward its FORTIFIED designation.
