NYC Renters Face Toughest Market in Decade

As Pandemic-Era Leases Expire, landlords looked to make back what they offered in pandemic discounts. Rental demand has remained strong as more people gradually return to the city after a jump in outbound migration during the pandemic. Disappearing rental concessions also suggest landlords remain confident about demand.Landlords have been raising rents more aggressively on units they leased during the pandemic in effort to recoup the earnings they lost. On average, rentals that were listed in 2020 or 2021 and relisted in Q2 2022 showed a 20.4% Meanwhile, priced out of Manhattan, many renters are shifting their search to more affordable areas in Brooklyn and Queens.

People don't care how much you know , until they know how much you care.

Since I got my license I had a question: "What does real estate agent?". I felt awkward to collect my commission , because I felt like I hadn't done enough to get this money . Now , actually I got the point and real estate agent cares about a lot of things
1) Process . Appointments , showings , finding the best time for both parts. Professional real estate agent always know what's next step and helps his principal to do it
2) Education . Most of all , clients don't really understand what's going on in real estate right now . They want you to find 2br for 2000$ in Manhattan and I want to provide such an option but it just doesn't exist
3) Responsibility. Based on demand your chances to get apartments in New York is extremely low right now . Working with agent you chances increase significantly . Agent handles all kind of negotiation , know all documents that you should provide and will make sure that everything is done in the right way
