Tom Keating was Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year in 2004-2005. His 35-year teaching career included classroom teaching, coaching, student assistance, and administrative duties. Tom was tragically killed in a car accident on his way to school on January 12, 2006. He taught at Turning Point, Monticello’s Alternative Learning Program and lived in the Foley community at the time of his death.

Proceeds from the golf tournament and silent auction will go to the Tom Keating Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide leadership training and support for the youth at risk. The Foundation has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors in both the Foley and Monticello school districts since 2006 and has funded youth leadership training. The main focus of The Foundation is to eventually provide transitional housing for youth at risk.
