I came across this deck today and had to do a double take.

Instead of traditional railings, the homeowner used actual tree branches as balusters. ๐ŸŒฒ

I can't decide if this is:

๐Ÿ˜‚ Something your building inspector has strong opinions about

I have to admit, it fits the home perfectly and gives off serious cabin vibes.

When you pay for a lake view, why put a fence in front of it? ๐Ÿค”

I love how these railings practically disappear, letting you enjoy the water, the dock, and the sunsets without looking through a maze of balusters.

It's a simple upgrade that makes a huge difference when you're sitting on the deck with your morning coffee or watching the boats go by.

๐Ÿ  When the cabin's decorating theme is "nautical"... and the floor joins in. โš“๐Ÿ˜‚

The ship wheel and anchors are a nice touch, but I'm starting to think the whole cabin committed to the boating theme.

Take a look at the beam above the doorway. Notice anything?

It's not exactly level, and neither is the ceiling. At first glance you might think it's an optical illusion, but after walking through the cabin, it became pretty clear this place has settled over the years.

Now, some movement in an older cabin isn't unusual. The important question is whether it's old movement that's stabilized or something that's still moving.

As a Realtor, this is one of those moments where you stop admiring the dรฉcor and start paying closer attention to the structure.

๐ŸŒŠ Unpopular opinion: If you own a lake, the lake is already your water feature.

I came across this pond on a lake property and it got me thinking.

On one hand, I appreciate the effort to create a peaceful garden feature.

On the other hand... there's a perfectly good lake just a few steps away. ๐Ÿค”

Maybe I'm missing something, but if I had waterfront property, I'd be spending my time looking at the lake, not cleaning leaves out of a miniature version of it.
