The Northwest MLS just made a pretty major change. Itā€™s called First Look, and sellers now have a way to market their home BEFORE the house goes on the market.

Why is that a big deal? For as long as I can remember, we had strict restrictions on pre-marketing homes before it went live on the market. Now, we have another tool we can utilize as part of our broader marketing strategy.

And thatā€™s ultimately the takeaway here. Selling a home isnā€™t just putting it in the MLS, throwing up a sign, and hoping somebody buys it. Thereā€™s strategy behind when we launch, how we launch, and how we position your home from day one. Now we have another tool to do it.

My first ā€œOH S**T, Iā€™m actually an adultā€ moment? My next-door neighbor stole my car. šŸ˜³

I was 18, living on my own in Kent and getting ready for an early morning shift at Starbucks when I realized my car was gone.

No clue what to do.
No clue who to call.
And absolutely no clue that the person behind the whole thing lived literally next door.

Plot twist: he did.

That experience ended with me moving out early, but it also taught me something I think we all eventually learn:

Thereā€™s a moment when you realize no one is handing you the adulting instruction manual.

You just start figuring s**t out.

How to protect yourself. How to advocate for yourself. Who to call when something goes sideways. And how to make the next decision even when you have absolutely no idea what youā€™re doing.

I definitely didnā€™t have it figured out at 18.

And if weā€™re being real, Iā€™m still figuring some of it out now.
