Baby, it’s cold outside! The last thing you want is for a pipe to burst. It can cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars to repair. Now, maybe you’re that person who likes to take chances. Nothing too terrible has ever happened to you before, right? Well friend, it’s 2022 and I’m not hedging my bets.

Here’s 5 ways to protect your pipe for busting this winter.

1 – Disconnect hoses.
2 – Cover hose bibs (aka outdoor spigots).
3 – Insulate pipers in unheated areas (ie: crawl spaces, garage, attic).
4 – Live faucets dripping on especially cold days.

Aaaaand finally, if you’re going out of town for a few days or selling your house, turn your water OFF. That way, you lessen the risk of pipes bursting and/or causing massive damage while your home is empty.
