Congrats, Mayor Francis, on this honor and for your partnership with SPAAR!

SPAAR is proud to recognize South St. Paul Mayor Jimmy Francis as its Realtor® Champion of the Month for September 2026. Born and raised in South St. Paul, Mayor Francis has led the city since 2016, bringing a lifelong connection to the community into his role at City Hall.

Under his leadership, South St. Paul has successfully expanded its tax base through strategic development, driving growth in the city. Economic development remains a top priority for the Mayor, who continues to champion policies that attract investment and strengthen the local economy.

Just as important to Mayor Francis is staying connected with the Realtors® who help sell the community of South Saint Paul to new residents. That commitment was on full display in May, when he joined SPAAR's Realtor® Roundtable alongside fellow city officials to hear directly from Realtors® about current market conditions and to discuss how South St. Paul can continue positioning itself as an attractive place to live while making it easier to buy and sell property in their community. Mayor Francis's willingness to listen, collaborate and prioritize growth makes him a true champion of the Realtor® community.

Congratulations, Tony, on being named this month's RPAC Investor of the Month!

SPAAR is pleased to recognize Tony Khambata as its RPAC Investor of the Month for September 2026. Tony has built his career as a Realtor® around a genuine passion for homes and an unwavering commitment to client service for the past 14 years. That same dedication extends well beyond his transactions and into the Realtor® community itself.

Tony has been an RPAC investor since 2018. Over the years, Tony has given generously of his time and, in addition to his financial contributions, he’s served on SPAAR's Government Affairs Committee, including a term as Chair, as well as on SPAAR's Board of Directors.

A recent example of his advocacy on behalf of the Realtor® community came this summer when he spoke on behalf of SPAAR before the Lakeville City Council to oppose the city's proposed development moratorium, standing up for the interests of Realtors® and homeowners alike.

Between his consistent RPAC investment and his hands-on volunteer leadership, Tony exemplifies what it means to advocate for the profession.

Charting the Future, Together!
After years of operating separately toward a shared purpose, SPAAR and MAR are excited to announce an important development: The Boards of Directors of both SPAAR and MAR have unanimously voted to recommend a merger of the two associations.
A member vote will take place September 29 through October 2 and, if approved, the merger would be effective January 1, 2027.

SPAAR and MAR believe this is a unique time and opportunity to create one association that maximizes the two associations’ different strengths and unique histories to carry the mission even further for the collective 16,000 members.

On Thursday September 24th from 4-6pm at the International Institute of MN (1694 Como Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55108), SPAAR is hosting its 4th annual Housing Resource Fair. This event is a great opportunity for Realtors®, clients, and the general public to learn about the abundance of homeowner and housing resources available in the Twin Cities provided by local and county governments, and community nonprofits. [LEARNING LAB] Introduction to Canva
This class is a "paint by numbers" Canva workshop. You will only need the "free" version of the app to participate, and you will walk away with hands-on experience using it.

✍️ Attendees are guided step-by-step through creating a few branded social media posts and a branded open house flyer for their business.

Workshop-Learning Labs are different from traditional classes. They are designed for practicing the process in real time, asking questions, and building confidence in a supportive environment.
