FIRM (Fair Insurance Rates for Monroe) has spent the last 20 years advocating for fair, equitable, & affordable property insurance for Monroe County residents and business owners. Their work directly impacts our homeowners, buyers, sellers, businesses, and the entire Florida Keys community.

Commercial slips available at 7-Mile Marina

The City of Marathon is offering commercial slips at its recently redeveloped 7-Mile Marina.

The marina, located at 1090 Overseas Highway near the east end of the Seven-Mile Bridge, is expected to open in the next 30 days.

Reservations are being taken for the available 15 slips and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

The slips will cost $35 per foot of vessel.

The city’s goal is to ensure small-business owners get an opportunity to secure a spot; therefore, slips cannot be resold or sublet. There will be one slip per person/agency.

Additionally, the city requests insurance, income verification, background check, and the appropriate licenses.

Work remains underway at the marina, which will offer cleaning tables and water. Electricity will be available at a later date.

Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, Rance made Marathon his home in January 2026 after spending the last 15 years vacationing in the Florida Keys. What began as annual fishing trips in search of mahi-mahi turned into a deep appreciation for the Keys, its people, and the laid-back lifestyle that keeps visitors coming back year after year.

Having experienced the Keys as a guest for so many years, Rance brings a guest-first perspective to vacation rental management. He understands the little details that make a stay feel effortless and memorable.

With a background in construction, sales, and account management, Rance brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and great communication to the KeysCations team.

When he’s not working, Rance enjoys spending time on the water, fishing, and making memories with his family.
