Manatees are gentle, curious creatures that have been around for millions of years. They are slow-moving and often solitary mammals that can be found in shallow coastal waters, rivers, and estuaries. They have a unique appearance with their round body shape and small paddle-shaped flippers. Manatees also have an incredibly strong sense of touch which helps them find food in murky waters. They are known to be gentle giants, as they rarely cause any harm to humans or other animals. Despite this, manatees are facing the threat of extinction due to human activities such as boat strikes and habitat destruction. It is our responsibility to protect these wonderful creatures so that future generations can enjoy them too!
Please enjoy this photo of manatees on a preserve in Florida snacking on sweet potatoes, while also looking like sweet potatoes. ❤ They're so amazing!
