Our broker, Chad Chadderton saw an opportunity to honor one of Maricopa's own hard-working residents when a street needed to be renamed.
He asked that the city rename the road to honor the late Paul Shirk and his contributions to the community.
Shirk is credited with establishing the Maricopa Historical Society, serving as its president, helping to get the historical society’s museum founded, and helping get the beloved California Zephyr railcar exhibit put into place. Chad presented a petition with roughly 100 signatures from community members asking to make the road renaming an opportunity to honor the life and contributions to the community of someone who embodied the spirit, values and respect for history the community loves.
