Feeling festive? Gwinnett County and others are hosting several festivals this weekend, giving guests and residents a chance to eat, dance, have fun, and connect with people from different backgrounds. One option is the CULTURA Festival in downtown Lawrenceville; another is the Korean Festival; and GAS SOUTH Arena is hosting JapanFest. Be sure to visit SuwaneeFest and check out the 15th Annual Peachtree Corners Festival. Nearby, Lake Lanier Islands in Hall County is hosting a hot-air balloon festival, while Stone Mountain Park in DeKalb County is holding its Pumpkin Festival.

Prefer to stay closer to home? The Gwinnett County Fair runs for the next few days, featuring Lady Whodini, BMX bike shows, animal shows, shopping, and more. The September 11th-13th, 2026 weekend events calendar includes several 9/11 remembrances, plus information on movies, concerts, educational events, and more. Duluth goes completely off the rails for its 150th anniversary with Grand Funk Railroad. In adjacent counties, the Yellow Daisy Festival is this weekend, and the Buford Corn Maze opens on Friday.

Residents in Northern Gwinnett County know of several wonderful amenities that make living here so special. There is a wide variety of home styles in multiple price ranges, with some of the finest options in national and local grocery stores, pharmacies, healthcare, and several popular local and national eateries, all just minutes away from Highway 316 and Interstate 85.

But the biggest secret is really no secret at all: the massive area known as Little Mulberry Park, which is anything but “little.” With four different entrances, it includes 15 miles of paved and unpaved trails for multiple uses, multiple lakeview piers over a massive fishing lake, an 18-hole disc golf course, a nature preserve, pavilions, playgrounds, plenty of paved parking, shade trees, and more. The walking trail at the Hog Mountain Road Entrance in the Mill Creek High School Cluster is moderately hilly, but the loop spans only 2.2 miles and offers a good mix of shade, sunlight, and benches for resting.

Nature lovers should grab their bikes, dogs, or strollers and enter the park through the Mulberry Entrance on Hog Mountain Road.
