I’m living an new peripatetic life these days flitting between Devon where the kids are, London where I hail from a lots of work trips which is new and fun. Art at - got to see some real classics including my favorite artist Paul Cezanne along with tons of Picasso, Van Gogh, Mattie’s, Gustav Klimt and so much more. Also, some incredible pieces of contemporary modern art which is usually not my jam, but there was some breathtaking work. A particular favorite was Christian Marclay’s The Clock. Amazingly ingenious and compelling. So glad to be able to do this…

So proud of my American connections with two US born kids, dual residency, multiple family members living across the USA from The East Coast to The West Coast, a deep understanding and passion for American culture, history and its people and a long love affair with a country that I went to school in, built a career in, got married in, had children in and created a life in. I am a big fan of democracy and very proud of the fact that we still live in a place where we have the right to vote and where a vote counts. Yes, it’s highly dysfunctional and yes it’s messy and yet we’re lucky to have it. Sadly, since I’m not a citizen, I can’t vote but I can encourage ALL of my US friends, family and colleagues to go to the polls today and make your vote count. Even if you live in a State where the result is all but guaranteed due to the electoral college, it is still your right and your privilege to be able to put an X in that box. I do love the USA so very much and feel so proud of the fact that I’ve contributed to this fascinating place over so many years and - who knows - perhaps my two USA kids might, one day, be able to make a much more meaningful impact on the outcome of the elections than I ever could in my limited capacity. This is really not meant to be a political post at all, so please do refrain from posting comments about one candidate or another. Instead, please do just recognize and celebrate how very lucky you are to have the right to vote and participate in this great project of the USA 🇺🇸 ♥️

After just 8 weeks (the average time in the UK to exchange and complete is 156 days), my wonderful vendors successfully exchanged contracts with some lovely buyers on Thursday. We’d always hoped to complete PRIOR to the Autumn budget statement but it did take a little longer than originally planned. But since we were only on the market for 7 weeks, this has still been a fairly swift process. This has been aided significantly by our amazingly motivated, committed and efficient sellers and buyers along with their excellent conveyancers who worked efficiently through the process. And then there’s my team who have helped us move expeditiously through the process as well. We’re not there yet, we’ve still completion to go. But this is a major milestone and a great achievement by everyone involved from beginning to end! Helping people have a better selling and buying experience - A Moving Experience - is an intricate, involved and skilled process that is often underestimated by the vast majority of people UNTIL they either go through BAD sale or experience a GOOD sale. …you know that I just love Paul Cezanne’s work. Ever since I visited Aix en Provence as a teenager, I’ve been mesmerized by these paintings of Mont Sainte Victoire. Indeed, a lofty life goal of mine is to own an original 😳💥And so it is that 20 years later, I’ve found this print that was stashed away, gathering dust at my Mums house and I’ve now hung it proudly on my wall in my new…drum roll… London pad 🏡 Hanging art that’s been gathering dust for more than 20 years ✅ discovering some of old treasured possessions ✅and celebrating the fact that I’m pretty darn consistent in knowing what I love 👊💯👏

A couple of weeks ago the kids (who were born in the USA 🇺🇸 and are American Citizens) and I went to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. I’ve been a number of times and it never fails to move me. 23 years ago today life changed for everyone and its something I’ll never forget. ♥️

There’s a fascinating thing called the RAS - This is your Reticular Activation System - a bundle of nerves located at the top of your spine and at the base of your head that is like your brains built in alarm clock. It helps you see things that are important and keeps you aware of things that are top of mind. So, for example if you decide that you’d like to buy a blue Tesla, then you can’t help but notice blue teslas EVERYWHERE! It’s weird! And so, for me - as a london born, Los Angeles trained real estate expert who’s now serving MORE clients in both Devon AND london, I keep noticing all these weird signs that Devon is everywhere and that Real Estate is a global business that is hyper localized! I see things differently as an Agent who has had vast experience serving clients in a different way in different communities and with a different perspective. If you are looking for a different result and want a better experience - A Moving Experience - then do remember that not ALL agents are alike and who you work with really does matter. It’s this man’s birthday today. My old man - Sebastian. He would have turned 77 today. Unfortunately, he got taken away from us WAY too early. 20 years ago in fact. July 2004. When I was 29, he was 56 and before I moved to the USA 🇺🇸, before I got married, before I had kids and before a whole lifetime of interesting things that he would have enjoyed experiencing a LOT! Rarely a day goes by when I don’t think of him (mainly due to our bangle that I still wear proudly on my wrist) and I very often think how lucky I am to have experienced his love, creativity and sense of community and passion for people, curiosity and love of life. The Apple didn’t fall far from the tree! ♥️
